John Stamos is known for his famous look, with many of his characters known for taking great care in their appearances. Recently, Stamos himself opened up about procedures he’s undergone himself. He also revealed a surprising connection to another famous figure.
John Stamos Recently Opened Up About Appearances During A Recent Podcast Appearance
Stamos first became known to audiences through his role as Blackie Parrish on ABC’s General Hospital. However, he gained further recognition playing Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom, Full House, a role he later reprised on the Netflix spin-off, Fuller House. Following this, he starred in the medical drama ER as Dr. Tony Gates.
Recently, the actor made an appearance during the June 10 episode of The Really Good Podcast, which is hosted by Bobbi Althoff. During the conversation, cosmetic procedures became a topic of discussion.
Stamos shared that he has never had a facelift, adding that he doesn’t currently have plans to undergo one, either. However, he admitted to getting Botox. He also revealed that he underwent two nose jobs in the 1980s.
The actor revealed that he initially injured his nose at a young age, long before his career started. He explained, “I broke it when I was a kid. I got hit with a golf club. There was a little scar here,” while motioning to his nose.
Stamos Previously Talked About Getting Work Done In His 2023 Memoir
However, while getting his big break in soaps, Stamos admitted that he wanted to make a change. He shared, “And I was on General Hospital, and I just didn’t like the way it looked, and so I got it done, and it didn’t look great.”
Deciding to undergo the procedure again, Stamos then revealed that this gave him a connection to another pop culture figure. He shared, “I went and I actually had it fixed by Michael Jackson’s guy.” As noted by People, Jackson, who died in 2009, had admitted to having two cosmetic procedures on his nose, among other plastic surgeries.

As the outlet noted, Stamos previously opened up about his nose job in his 2023 memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. At the time, he shared that he was bullied over his nose as a kid in school.
Stamos shared, “Everyone who gets a nose job tries to find some excuse other than vanity, but let’s call it what it was — vanity.” However, he wasn’t too happy with the outcome, sharing, “I’m not all that happy with it. My nose looks kind of pushed up like Peter Pan or something. So on my next hiatus, I have it redone by Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon.”
