July festivities decline, with U.S.-Canada ties still strained

Blaine, Washington, for example, will be holding its usual July 4th parade, car show, and fireworks, but it has no major plans or money for marking the 250th anniversary of the country. And while Canadians have long been a part of the July 4 celebratory crowd, fewer are coming these days, says Mayor Mary Lou Steward.
