The case sparked a lot of discussion on social media. It even caught the attention of reality star Khloe Kardashian. She shared a shocking theory on the elderly woman’s abduction. Keep reading for all the details.
Today Show Host’s Mother Still Missing
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Her friends reported her missing the next day when she missed church. Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie immediately went to Tucson, Arizona, to help find her mother. But it’s been over 100 days, and she still hasn’t been found.
The authorities have shared very little information about the case. Early reports indicated that they believed the elderly woman was abducted from her home in the middle of the night. Little else is known about the shocking disappearance, even after the FBI got involved. Nancy Guthrie remains missing to this day.
Khloe Kardashian Shares Shocking Theory On Nancy Guthrie Abduction
Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance received wall-to-wall media coverage in the first few days and weeks. New theories popped up on social media as more information about the investigation came out. Khloe Kardashian shared her thoughts on the abduction during an interview with Ashley Flowers, the host of the Crime Junkie podcast.
They both expressed disbelief that the police haven’t been able to find Nancy Guthrie with all of the technology that exists in 2026. Most homes have surveillance cameras. However, the authorities weren’t able to get much off the 84-year-old’s security cameras except for a masked individual disabling the cameras the night she went missing.

Khloe Kardashian revealed that she thinks Nancy Guthrie is still alive and shared a shocking theory. “I don’t know if I know enough about this case, but like all the things I was reading about the brother-in-law and that kind of stuff, I’m like, oof,” she said. The reality star was referring to Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, who is married to her daughter, Annie.
He immediately became a suspect of interest to amateur social media sleuths. He was the last person to see Nancy Guthrie alive after dropping her off at her home on January 31, the night she went missing. She hasn’t been seen since. However, the police publicly cleared Tommaso Cioni and all family members of involvement in her disappearance.
Fans Blast Her For Spreading Debunked Rumors
Khloe Kardashian also thought it was strange that several ransom notes in the case were released to the media first. However, she admitted that she didn’t know much about the case beyond those details.
She received some backlash on social media for her shocking claim that Nancy Guthrie’s brother-in-law was involved. A few fans blasted her for spreading misinformation:
- “STOP BEGGING FOR ATTENTION for people to listen to your failing podcast! NO, it’s NOT WEIRD that Police don’t ‘tell everything’ during an active investigation.”
- “If you, YOURSELF, are admitting you don’t know anything about a specific subject – why in the world would I waste my time to listen to what you say???!!!”
- “Khloe, if you admittedly don’t know enough about the situation, then kindly STFU!”
Nancy Guthrie’s missing persons case is no longer front-page news due to a lack of leads. However, Khloe Kardashian’s podcast could help revive interest in what’s quickly becoming a cold case. Tell us in the comments if you agree with her take on the disappearance.
