Khloe Kardashian wished her close friend Savas a happy birthday on Tuesday with an Instagram post that read more like a love letter than a social media caption.
She called him “one of the most loyal, trustworthy, funny, and genuinely wonderful people I know.” She went on to name him “the most incredible uncle” to her children, writing that the bond between Savas and her kids is “something we all treasure deeply.”
For Khloe, that’s not a phrase she throws around. She has two kids – daughter True Thompson, born in 2018, and a son born via surrogate in 2022. She’s spoken publicly over the years about keeping her inner circle very small and very loyal. Calling someone an uncle to her children places him in a category that very few people occupy.
The post gave a real sense of what this friendship is actually like day to day. “There aren’t many people I can spend hours debating with, laughing with, venting to,” Khloe wrote. She added that she always leaves those conversations with her cheeks hurting from smiling and laughing so hard. That’s the kind of friendship that’s hard to find and easy to take for granted. It sounds like neither of them does.
She put particular weight on Savas’s bond with her kids. “Watching the way you love my babies has always meant so much to me,” she wrote. Her children “absolutely adore” him, and the warmth in how she described it makes clear this goes way beyond a casual friendship.
She wrapped up with a line that felt very on-brand: “I love you, you freak!” Short, funny, real.
On the career side, Khloe has plenty going on. Good American, the label she co-founded with Emma Grede in 2016, has kept evolving as a major player in body-inclusive fashion. The brand built its reputation around extended sizing and has become a go-to name in denim. Khloe is still active in the Kardashian-Jenner Hulu reality universe too. The family remains one of the most-watched acts in unscripted TV.
Off screen, she’s talked openly about valuing the people who showed up for her during difficult years. She’s been through a lot in public – relationships, health challenges, family dynamics. She’s been consistent about crediting her close circle for getting her through it.
Savas, known on Instagram as @worldwidesavas, doesn’t appear to be a public figure in the traditional sense. But to Khloe and her kids, it’s clear he’s one of the most important people in their lives. That kind of connection is worth celebrating.
