On Patrol: Live fans watched Deputy Dalton Swanger get knocked out while the show was filming. This went down in June 2025, and it was unclear if he had been hit with a rock or a brick, but it severely impacted his life. A year after it happened, Deputy Swanger has finally filed a lawsuit, but what is he asking for? Keep reading for all of the details.

    Deputy Swanger Files A Suit

A year ago, On Patrol: Live fans watched as Deputy Dalton Swanger was knocked in the head and his life was forever changed. Surgeries were needed, and it was unclear if he would make it. Moreover, if he did, would he ever go back to work? Fortunately, he had the love and support of his partner, Stephania, and was able to be as good as new. He returned to work, which fans were thrilled about, but within a short time, he was scaring everyone again. His blood sugar dropped, and he looked incredibly pale.

Fortunately, Deputy Swanger knew what to do and was just fine. Then, Knox County was taken off the show, which caused an uprising from fans. Amid all of the questions, Deputy Swanger has filed a lawsuit nearly a year after his accident. He is asking for $2.5 million from the man who allegedly threw the rock at Swanger’s head and nearly ended his life. Christopher Hensley supposedly threw the rock and then fled the scene of the crime.

Due to the severity of the injury, Deputy Swanger had to be placed in a coma. Furthermore, he had complex tracheal resection surgery, which was hard to come by. The On Patrol: Live fan favorite will not be back on television, but he does keep viewers apprised with social media updates. They are brokenhearted that he won’t be on the show any longer, but will likely be following the trial.

    More Charges

As for Christopher Hensley, he has a slew of charges pending, so this is not a good situation. The man accused of injuring On Patrol: Live’s very own Deputy Swanger has been charged with:

    • Attempted second-degree murder
    • Aggravated assault on a first responder
    • Domestic assault
    • Possession of a firearm with intent to go armed
    • Manufacturing/delivering/selling/possession of a controlled substance

Unfortunately for those dedicated to the outcome with have to wait quite a bit of time. The trial is set for February 1st, 2027. Some are wondering how Christopher would even come up with that amount of money, which is a fair question. Time will tell how this ends.

Are you surprised that Deputy Swanger has filed a suit, and what do you think the outcome will be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
