Love Island USA Season 8 has not even begun, but there is already an insane amount of drama. An Islander has already been thrown off the show, and now, another is being slammed. Are they being portrayed as a dirty cop, and moreover, should they even be on the show? Keep reading for more details.
Season 8 Features A Cop
When it comes to Love Island USA, there came a point where too many Islanders were influencers and in the same circle. They all seemed to be connected, which was a problem for viewers. After a while, fans wanted to see Islanders who had never seen one another in real-time. Rather, they needed to be complete strangers, which would further add to the mystery, and it seems that is what casting has done. Season 8 has nursing students, store managers, and a police officer. Unfortunately, it appears that the cop is being called out, but what is the reason?
Sean Reifel moved from California back home to Pennsylvania to be closer to his son. While there, he became a cop and seemed immensely proud of his achievement. However, it seemed odd that he would take a leave to go on the show, especially Love Island USA. Now, it seems that Sean actually exited the force, which is being frowned upon. TMZ caught up with Bethlehem Mayor J. William Reynolds, and he slammed Sean. He noted that it is hard enough to find cops, and then Sean is recruited only to leave for a reality series.
Additionally, Mayor Reynolds stated that money was spent on Sean that taxpayers cannot get back. Ultimately, those who saw the Mayor speak did not take what he had to say to heart. They did not think that Sean was bad for leaving his job to head to Fiji or be on Love Island USA.
A Blessing In Disguise?
Mayor Reynolds was asked if this was a blessing in disguise that Sean Reifel left when he did. He saw another opportunity, and he jumped at it. By taking the chance at Love Island USA, he showed that he was not that invested in the force. The mayor was somewhat indifferent, but the full story of what Sean did will come out when the show premieres on June 2nd. In any case, he did become a cop, and he may have seen that it was not what he wanted for his life. The show may have nothing to do with his leaving.
