Mama June Shannon has never held back her disdain for Pumpkin Efird’s now ex-husband, Josh Efird. In fact, she believes that he helped to drive a wedge between her and her daughter. Yet, he was just tired of dealing with June and her antics. Fans have been rallying around Josh, but June just unleashed on him and stood beside Pumpkin firmly. Mama June Never Liked Josh
Pumpkin Efird met Josh Efird when she was just a teenager, and the two got pregnant when she was just seventeen. They welcomed their daughter, Ella, and then tied the knot, having three more children, Bentley, Sylus, and Stella. Additionally, the couple helped to raise Pumpkin’s younger sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, when Mama June was deep into her addiction. However, after a decade together and six years of marriage, Josh and Pumpkin called it quits. Fans were shocked as they seemed to love and respect one another.
Pumpkin started dating Josh’s cousin, Darrin Kitchens, and it has been alleged that this may have ended the marriage. Mama June fans have watched this play out on Family Crisis and are broken for Josh. They have also watched Pumpkin knock Josh down at every turn and are sick of it. Now, June is rushing to Pumpkin’s defense and making fans aware that there is more to the story. She took to social media to state that she knows people will continue to blame her daughter, and that’s fine. However, once viewers see what Josh has done, they will see a different side. June noted that it has nothing to do with him having another baby with someone else:
- We’ve kept a family secret for 2 1/2 years again pumpkin protecting him And the other people involved but when we were in Florida, the end of October cameras were there and caught some sh*t and when that time comes and it airs, I’m gonna make a video about it and speak my truth I think that everybody should take accountability and there’s a lot of people in the situation that haven’t took accountability.
Mixed Feelings
Viewers had mixed feelings about what the Georgia-based Mama June had to say regarding her former son-in-law. They know that Josh Efird was not perfect, and as June stated, neither was Pumpkin. However, June is not one to talk about anyone’s imperfections, and she is vying for mother of the year at this point. Many still stood by Josh, no matter what dirt Mama June claimed to have on him:
- June has a lot a stake, so she has to keep on Pumpkin’s good side. June’s been pimping out Pumpkin in her new career as an “Exotic Dancer”. I’m sure if she’s acting as Pumpkin’s “manager”, she hopes to get a cut of the glitter dollars
- Josh has the best heart ❤️ he did so much for his family and raising Alana😢
- June stop bashing him. You should be grateful Josh stepped up when you hit rock bottom. 💯🙄
- Hi June, A break up always takes two. I like Pumpkin very much. She is your daughter and of course, you support her! ❤️
