Meghan McCain Recently Spoke Out Against Critics During Her Podcast Show, Citizen McCain
Meghan is the daughter of late Senator John McCain and diplomat Cindy McCain. In the mid-2000s, Meghan became known to many for her blog, McCain Blogette.
Since then, Meghan has become known for her work with a variety of outlets. This includes The Daily Beast, Outnumbered, Daily Mail, and The View.
As a public figure, Meghan has faced her share of critiques over the years. Taking to her podcast, Citizen McCain, she shared a few choice words over people commenting on her appearance.
Meghan noted, “I am normally an Armadillo-skinned person, and there’s been a lot of commentary about how ‘old and ugly’ I am now,” in reference to an image of her going viral. However, she felt this was only natural.
As Meghan shared, “I’m 41 years old.” She felt that these issues were somewhat unavoidable with the passage of time, noting, “I’m going to age. I’m going to get older. I am fatter because I’ve had three kids.”
McCain Also Had A Few Choice Words Back In March When Critics Targeted Her Months After Giving Birth
Meghan also felt that she had more important things in her life than keeping up appearances. As she shared, “I look different because I don’t have professional hair and makeup every day, and sometimes, in the morning, it’s more important for me to get my kids ready, to spend time with them and feed my son, than it is for me to get ready, which is why I don’t always have my hair and makeup done to your liking.”
Meghan’s co-host, Miranda Wilkins, shared, “We don’t get Botox, we haven’t had the thread facelift, we’re not on Ozempic.” For her part, McCain admitted such things were tempting, but she wasn’t on it.
Meghan shared, “We are all going to have to collectively come together [and agree] that I’m going to continue aging. And I’m sorry, I’m not a facelift, injectable person, and I don’t have professional hair and makeup.”
This isn’t the first time McCain spoke out against body image critics. Back in March, two months after the birth of her son, Ransom, Meghan discussed comments she was getting on social media.
