Megyn Kelly has shown to have complex views concerning President Donald Trump. While she has endorsed him multiple times throughout the years, there have been times she hasn’t held back from criticizing his policies when she disagrees. Recently, she came to his defense when a certain event was criticized by another prominent figure: Larry David.
Larry David Shared Words Over A Recent Event While Attending A Los Angeles Premiere
Kelly is a journalist and political commentator known to many for her nearly 15-year tenure with Fox News, including hosting The Kelly File. Recently, she has become known to many through her namesake podcast series, The Megyn Kelly Show.
Recently, Kelly shared a few choice words for comedian, actor, and producer Larry David after he appeared to criticize President Donald Trump. To many, David is known for co-creating Seinfeld and creating and starring in the HBO series, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
While attending the Los Angeles premiere of his new sketch show, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, David shared a few choice words against UFC Freedom 250, a UFC fight held on the South Lawn of the White House. This event honored America’s upcoming 250th anniversary as well as President Trump’s 80th birthday.
Megyn Kelly Admitted To Liking Curb Your Enthusiasm, But Didn’t Care For David’s Recent Comments
As noted by Variety, David, a longtime critic of Trump’s, shared, “It was a travesty. What else can you say about it? It was embarrassing. I was embarrassed to be an American.”
Following this, Kelly criticized David on her show, taking special note of his comment that he was “embarrassed to be American.” Admitting that she liked his work, Kelly shared, “Like speaking of DEI and wokeness, Larry David, whose show I enjoy — I think Curb Your Enthusiasm is so clever and very funny — but I just wish he would stop with the political, over-the-top stuff.”

Continuing this, Kelly felt that the criticism was an issue of class. She shared, “There’s no question Larry lives in either Beverly Hills or Bel Air and is living it up big.” As she explained, she took issue with it appearing that the Brooklyn-born comedian would “turn his nose up” at a sport she considers inherently “American.”
Kelly admitted that not everyone likes the sport and that many who don’t have valid reasons. However, she continued, “I don’t like UFC because I don’t like violence. I don’t like boxing. I don’t like any violence — I can’t handle it. It’s not a class thing like it clearly is with Larry David.”
