Megyn Kelly has weighed in on a number of issues throughout her podcast series. Recently, she shared a few choice words about the recent Supergirl film. She also shared a few choice words for the character’s actress, Milly Alcock.
Megyn Kelly Discussed Hollywood’s ‘Girlboss Era’ Following The Release Of Supergirl
Supergirl dropped back in late June. The story revolves around Superman’s famous cousin, Kara Zor-El, who travels on a quest across the galaxy.
Australian actress Milly Alcock plays the title role. She previously appeared in the character in Superman back in 2025. Prior to this, she was known for playing a young Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon.
Recently, Alcock herself and Supergirl both became topics of discussion on Megyn Kelly’s namesake podcast and SiriusXM series. In particular, she didn’t seem to like the way the story presented itself.
Kelly shared, “We’re over the forced-upon-us girlboss era. It’s not authentic. It’s not organic. We’re no longer buying it.” She continued, “It’s not that women can’t be empowered and fierce and all the great things. It’s just, stop forcing it on us in the form of Supergirl.”
Kelly Also Weighed In On Milly Alcock’s Past Comments About House Of The Dragon
Another point of contention for Kelly was that Supergirl did not have a male love interest. As she explained, she felt that Hollywood was pushing too hard against love stories in films over the past few years.
Kelly continued, “So, you can’t center around a love relationship… because that would be offensive and obviously disempowering. If you are in a love relationship with a man, as a woman, it’s disempowering to your superhero narrative. F*** that! Virtually every woman on Earth who is straight would love to connect with a man, form a love relationship, and be buoyed up by it—not diminished, which is a Hollywood, weird, woke message.”

Kelly also made comments directed at the actress herself. At one point, she discussed an interview Alcock gave back in March with Vanity Fair. Discussing her time with House of the Dragon, she shared, “That experience definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies. I can’t really stop them. I can only be myself.”
Kelly disagreed with Alcock’s point of view concerning the show, sharing, “You were in light p***! Game of Thrones… is soft p***. Who does she think she’s kidding?”
Currently, Supergirl has been struggling at the box office, with reviews being mixed, although Alcock’s performance has garnered some praise. In addition, viewers are expected to see more of her portrayal of the character, with her expected to appear in Man of Tomorrow in 2027.
