Megyn Kelly is one of many journalists who turned to social media after leaving traditional news programs. She hosts a talk show on YouTube, where she shares her hot takes on current events. The former Fox News anchor recently zeroed in on Jimmy Kimmel.
The late-night host announced that he’s taking a summer vacation from Jimmy Kimmel Live! Megyn Kelly called him out for taking him off. “Jimmy Kimmel’s going on vacay… for two months. Do you have a two-month vacay? Probably not. Do you have 30 acres in Martha’s Vineyard? Probably not,” Megyn Kelly snidely said about the planned vacation.
Summer vacations are common for talk show hosts. LIVE with Kelly and Mark is airing pre-recorded episodes this week while Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are on vacation.
She Claims He’s Panicking Over ‘Job Security’
Jimmy Kimmel joked that he is “voluntarily” leaving his late-night show this time. He was famously suspended by ABC in September 2025 for his comments on Charlie Kirk’s death. He was reinstated after a few days, but there are constant cries for the show to be canceled. Jimmy Kimmel renewed his contract through 2027, but what happens after that remains to be seen.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! won’t be off the air while Jimmy Kimmel is on vacation. He revealed a list of rotating guest hosts. Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo, and Jelly Roll will fill in while Jimmy Kimmel is gone. He also announced that Rosie O’Donnell will guest-host for two weeks beginning on August 17. Megyn Kelly blasted Jimmy Kimmel for his choice of guest hosts.
“And guess who he has sub-hosting for him? It’s a litany of left-wing comedians, most of whom you don’t know very well because he’s worried about his job security,” she said. “So, he’s got to find people who are lesser than he is.”
Megyn Kelly went on to slam Rosie O’Donnell for claiming that Kamala Harris won the 2024 election. “I was told by some reliable sources that election denialism is wrong and basically makes you an insurrectionist or a supporter,” Megyn Kelly said about the conspiracy theory.
Megyn Kelly shared an old social media post where Rosie O’Donnell had a cold sore. “MAGA gave her herpes, and now she’s guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel. Note to the guests, don’t get too close. Do not do the hello kiss when you arrive on stage,” Megyn Kelly advised guests.
