Everyone, including celebrities, can have struggles with their mental health. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is no different. She’s opening up about a strange way in which a trip to Japan helped her anxiety. Keep reading to find out more.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Anxiety
22-year-old actress Millie Bobby Brown may be a world-famous actress; however, she certainly has her struggles when it comes to mental health. For someone so young, she has a lot going on in her life all the time. Not only does she have her acting career, but she decided to start a family relatively young as well. In 2024, she married Jake Bongiovi, son of the famous Jon Bongiovi.
Shortly after their wedding, they decided to adopt a daughter at just 21-years-old. While this is probably enough to cause the star some stress, there’s actually something else that can trigger months-long anxiety attacks.
According to Radar Online, Millie and her security team had a bad experience in which she and her team were chased by someone she doesn’t know for 20 minutes. Needless to say, this has caused a lot of stress in her life. After all, no one wants to be stalked by someone they don’t know, let alone chased.
Now, Millie is revealing the one thing that has helped stop her anxiety attacks – monks.
Monks Help Millie
It was recently revealed that during a trip to Japan, Millie Bobby Brown saw monks. Apparently, that was just what she needed to help break her out of her ‘cycle.’
“I went to Japan, and I sat with these monks, and it was the most amazing experience. I’m getting teary-eyed talking about it, but it took me out of the cycle. I needed it,” she says.
She continues to explain that there was one man in particular who she felt like ‘saw’ her. She was at her worst, and he meditated with her.
“This one amazing gentleman who was like just so calm and almost felt like he saw me. I was in the height of my anxiety at this point; it was like he knew that I was kind of broken. He was like, ‘We need to meditate.’ It was amazing. I will never forget the feeling,” Millie explains.
Even those around her noticed a difference. Her husband pointed out a big change he saw.
“I remember being like, ‘I’m sorry, I feel like it’s my birthday.’ Finally, peace in my heart. And my husband literally said, ‘You radiated this light after.’ My husband’s one of those people; he just never questions. He’s like, ‘What you’re telling me, this is your truth. Even if this is your anxiety, you’re still feeling it, it’s still happening to you.’”
