The Great American State Fair has been making headlines as the United States is set to honor its 250th anniversary. However, different outlets have shared different accounts about the event. In fact, one journalist, Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski, had an interesting reaction to one outlet’s coverage of the event in particular.
Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski Took Issue With One Claim About The Great American State Farm, Particularly Concerning A Certain Speech
Brzezinski is known for co-hosting MS Now’s morning show, Morning Joe, alongside her husband, Joe Scarborough. Originally a CBS News correspondent, she joined MSNBC as an anchor in 2007.
Recently, Brzezinski covered the Great American State Fair. This 16-day event runs until July 10 as a celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary and is hosted on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
During her coverage, Brzezinski took special note of attendance at the event. As she shared, “President Trump has been touting crowd size at the American State Fair, claiming at least 45,000 people attended his speech kicking off America’s 250th anniversary festivities in Washington, D.C. But reports from the ground tell a different story.”
One Outlet In Particular Caused Brzezinski To Laugh On The Show, Leading Her To Share A Certain Social Media Post
Quoting an NBC News report and a Washington Post report, Brzezinski denied the claim that an estimated 45,000 people were at the event, claiming that the crowd barely covered the area. She then claimed that Fox News was “insisting that there were more people attending the event than met the eye.”
Brzezinski then covered her face and laughed over the clip, sharing, “Ouch. OK.” She then shared a sarcastic tweet from Jonah Goldberg, which claimed, “If only [Fox News] had employees who knew how to operate cameras that could capture these images he describes.” Notably, Goldberg had also shared a clip of Fox News’ coverage of the event.

As previously reported, the event had also made headlines after reporters at the event shared videos and images of technical difficulties during the proceedings. In particular, freezers and a massive Ferris Wheel were said to be impacted. Another issue that had reportedly been impacting the event early on was various musical acts backing out of the event. This included Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, and The Commodores.
