Oprah Winfrey is launching “The Oprah Podcast,” a new weekly series built around the kind of deep, genuine conversations she’s spent her whole career seeking out.
The show debuts July 7, 2026, with new episodes releasing every Tuesday on her YouTube channel and all major podcast platforms. Guests will range from thought leaders and authors to everyday people. The goal, as Oprah described it, is to open “the aperture of your heart.”
In her Instagram announcement, she explained the motivation simply. “Connecting with people about what matters to us, as we all continue to reach our highest, truest potential is what I’m most interested in offering at this time in my life,” she wrote. “That’s why I’m launching ‘The Oprah Podcast.’”
She spent 25 years doing something close to this on The Oprah Winfrey Show. That beloved series wrapped in 2011 after a remarkable run. Since then, Oprah has built the Oprah Winfrey Network and continued producing content for her YouTube channel. A podcast feels like the most personal format she’s tried yet.
The format suits her well. Podcast conversations tend to go deeper and run longer than a television segment. There’s room to follow an idea somewhere unexpected. There’s space to let a guest finish a thought without a commercial break cutting in. That kind of unhurried exchange is clearly what she’s after.
What makes the announcement feel genuine is how personally she framed it. She didn’t describe it as a media expansion or a platform play. She called the podcast a personal offering – something she wants to bring to the world right now. It’s a warm and candid way to introduce something new.
The mission behind it is just as sincere. Oprah wants conversations that help people “remain compassionate, empathetic, and curious about the people and world around you.” It’s a tender, hopeful goal. The podcast space has plenty of debate and provocation. A show rooted in curiosity and care offers something different.
The Tuesday release schedule is a thoughtful choice. Consistent timing helps a new show build a loyal audience. A midweek drop also gives listeners something to look forward to at a natural break in the week.
Her YouTube channel already has a large following. Years of interviews and personal content have built that audience. The podcast has a genuine head start because of it.
“I can’t wait for you to join me for these conversations,” Oprah added in her announcement. From most people, a line like that might feel like a standard send-off. From her, it reads like an invitation she actually means.
Longtime fans of The Oprah Winfrey Show will recognize the spirit here. The author interviews, the conversations about purpose and growth – those always felt like the heart of the show. This podcast is heading toward that same territory. The format is new. The feeling is familiar.
“The Oprah Podcast” launches Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
