Health plans are under pressure to do more on every front: deliver more personalized member experiences, improve quality and Stars performance, manage risk and payment accuracy, reduce administrative waste, and prepare the enterprise for AI. But many payer transformation efforts run into the same foundational barrier: fragmented, inconsistent, and disconnected data across member, provider, claims, care management, engagement, and analytics systems.
In a webinar sponsored by Verato, scheduled for July 22 from 1 pm to 2 pm ET, executives from Verato, Scan Health Plan and the Alliance of Community Health Plans will explore why the next era of payer performance will depend on developing a trusted data foundation connecting people, providers, and relationships. Panelists will discuss where payer data fragmentation shows up most visibly, why AI and automation initiatives often underperform without trusted identity and governance, and how health plan leaders can prioritize practical steps that improve member experience, operational efficiency, payment performance, and enterprise readiness for AI.
Panelists for the webinar include:
Martin Hougaard, Vice President Product Marketing at Verato, will serve as the webinar moderator. He is a healthcare data and identity leader at Verato, where he helps health plans unlock the value of accurate, unified member data. With deep experience in data strategy and interoperability, he works with organizations to improve data quality, enable better analytics, and drive more personalized, efficient care experiences.
Vinay Kulkarni is the Chief Information Officer of SCAN Health Plan, where he oversees the organization’s digital transformation initiatives, including automation, cloud enablement, and IT operations. His focus is on improving efficiency, scaling growth, and enhancing the member experience.
Thomasina Anane is the Associate Vice President of Enterprise Analytics for the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP). Strategically working at the intersection of health policy and data analytics, she oversees the ACHP analytics portfolio, delivering data-driven insights to advance ACHP’s advocacy agenda and clinical priorities. Prior to joining ACHP, Thomasina served as a consultant with Manatt Health and as a health insurance specialist for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center (CMMI).
Among the questions the panelists will address are:
- Where does data fragmentation create the most friction for health plans today: member experience, quality, payment accuracy, provider data, operations, or AI?
- Why have so many payer data and analytics investments failed to create the level of trust or actionability leaders expected?
- What does AI readiness actually mean for a health plan beyond having a cloud platform or analytics team?
- How should payers think about identity across members, providers, households, caregivers, locations, and organizations?
- What payer use cases are most dependent on getting identity and data quality right first?
