The 2026 RBC Canadian Open is taking place at Osprey Valley Golf Course Toronto, Ontario this weekend and two Canadians are in contention. Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill, Ontario, and Matthew Anderson of Mississauga, Ontario are both at -7, and three strokes of the lead.
Pendrith had a first round score of four-under-par 66, and a second round score of three-under-par 67. In the first round, Pendrith had seven birdies, one bogey and one double bogey. He birdied the first, sixth, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 18th holes, bogeyed the 16th hole and double bogeyed the 10th hole. In the second round, Pendrith had five birdies and two bogeys. He birdied the second, sixth, 11th, 17th, and 18th holes, and bogeyed the fourth and seventh holes.
Anderson had a first round score of six-under-par 64, and a second round score of one-under-par 69. In the first round, Anderson had six birdies and zero bogeys. He birdied the second, seventh, eighth, 13th, 16th, and 18th holes. In the second round, Anderson had one eagle, one birdie, and two bogeys.
Anderson’s eagle came on the par-five first hole in round two. Anderson had a 284 yard tee shot, 231 yard approach shot, and a putt of 37 feet and three inches.
American Ben James is the leader at -10. Those in second place at -9 are Haotong Li of China, Jesper Svensson of Sweden, and Americans Keith Mitchell, Sam Burns and Jackson Suber. Those in seventh place at -8 are Americans Brooks Koepka, Bud Cauley, Brice Garnett, and Jimmy Stanger, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox, and England’s Tommy Fleetwood. Those in 13th place and tied with Anderson and Pendrith are England’s Harry Hall, Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo, South Africa’s Aldrich Potgeiter and American Sahith Theegala.
Koepka is a five-time major champion. He won the 2017 and 2018 United States Open and the 2018, 2019 and 2023 PGA Championship.
