TORONTO — Week 12 has come and gone, as we turn the page to Week 13.
The writers are all at .500 or above as the second half of the CFL season is rolling along. Vicki Hall enjoyed a 4-0 week last week, while Kristina Costabile gained a game on Jamie Nye and sits just one game behind him for the lead.

Montreal sits at 9-1 on the season, after its big win over the Ottawa REDBLACKS in Week 12. Davis Alexander and his offence are clicking and the defence has been making timely stops to keep things rolling for the Als. Winnipeg dropped its Week 12 contest to the Edmonton Elks and will be looking to bounce back at home. Can the Bombers move above .500? Or will the Alouettes continue their dominance? All of the pick makers think the latter.

Calgary returns from a bye week looking to snap a two-game losing streak, while Hamilton comes off a loss to the Toronto Argonauts in rainy conditions in Week 12. Tre Ford started for the Ticats, as the team continues to look for answers at quarterback, and completed 19 of 32 passes for 356 yards and no touchdowns. All eyes will be on Vernon Adams Jr. and Dedrick Mills this week at practice after both left their Week 11 contest with injuries. Despite the questions surrounding the Stampeders’ stars, the experts are still all picking Calgary to improve to 5-6 with a win at McMahon Stadium.

The Toronto Argonauts put on a show and got a win for the fans who stuck around in the rain at BMO Field last weekend. The Argos now sit at .500 and are second in the East Division, as they look to create even more separation between them and the Ticats as they head to the prairies on Saturday. The Riders are coming off back-to-back losses, scoring just 16 points in Week 12 and 19 in Week 11. Trevor Harris and co. are still second in the West (6-4) but with the division tightening up, every win is that much more important. Kristina is the only one who thinks the Double Blue will hand the home team an L.

Nathan Rourke and the BC Lions have been rolling as of late with the Leos winning their last four contests. With an improved defence and a threatening ground game led by Zander Horvath and James Butler, BC has moved up the standings into third place (5-5) in the West. Can they keep that going this week? The REDBLACKS, who are 0-10 on the season, will hope not. Changes keep coming in the nation’s capital, with the team announcing that Jim Popp has joined the club as a senior football advisor. Despite Popp’s experience and pedigree being added to Ottawa’s front office, CFL.ca’s writers still all think it will be the Lions finishing Week 13 with a win.
