Chelsea fans would have been encouraged by their side’s 3-2 win at Fulham on Monday night, and particularly the early chemistry between front three Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer.
Xabi Alonso’s men looked good going forward but less secure at the back and that ought to provide optimism for a Brighton side who were equally impressive in sweeping aside Aston Villa 4-0 at home.
Fabian Hurzeler’s squad should challenge once again for a European spot in the table this season and this will be a good early-season barometer of their progress.
