The Reds announced this morning that left-hander Nick Lodolo is going on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his left index finger. Right-hander Chase Petty was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Lodolo exited yesterday’s game against the Cubs in the top of the sixth. Having allowed one earned run through his first five innings, Lodolo surrendered a solo home run to Carson Kelly to start the sixth and was seen checking out his left hand before calling for the trainers. He ultimately left the game with a line of five-plus innings, two earned runs, and 78 pitches. Caleb Ferguson replaced Lodolo on the mound.
