Countess Luann de Lesseps will challenge anyone to say that she is not worthy of her title. The RHONY OG may have divorced her husband and remarried (and then gotten divorced again), but she will always claim the ‘Countess’ title. Yet, on the premiere of RHUGT, she made an epic diss toward Jennifer Lopez. Keep reading on how she was forced to apologize to the iconic actress.
The Countess Disses J.Lo In the Worst Way
Luann de Lesseps has always thought very highly of herself. She was previously married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps from 1993 to 2009. The duo shares two children, Noel and Victoria, and their relationship, as well as their demise, played out on RHONY. Although they split, she maintained that she would always be a Countess, even though she was briefly married to Tom D’Agostino. Many challenged her title and stated that since she remarried, she lost it. However, Luann felt it was her brand and noted that Queen Latifah was not an actual Queen.
In the premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, Luann was speaking in her confessional. She was comparing herself to Jennifer Lopez and her hit single “Jenny From the Block” when she said this:
“I’m really just Lu from Connecticut. Like J. Lo is from…the hood?”
Quickly, the producer whom she was speaking to broke the fourth wall and let Luann know that she was wrong:
“Um, from the block?”
The Countess quickly apologized for her snafu, but everyone who has watched the OG RHONY knows that she can be a tad arrogant:
“I couldn’t think! Because let me tell you, I lived for many years in Europe during the ’90s, 2000s. Of course, I know Jenny from the Block, but I forgot. So I said the hood. I’m a little embarrassed. I hope J. Lo is not upset with me because I love her.”
RHUGT fans quickly chimed in, and some felt that it was shade. However, others believed that Countess Luann de Lesseps is the gift that keeps on giving. She is genuinely unaware, and that is what makes her one of the best housewives of all time.
