Riverside Luxury Cruises has announced plans to expand its fleet with the debut of Riverside Mahler in 2028, marking the first time the vessel will sail under the Riverside banner. She is slated to join sister-ship Riverside Debussy sailing itineraries on the Rhine, Main, Moselle and Danube Rivers.
In 2023, Riverside acquired a fleet of five river ships from Crystal Cruises — Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, Mahler, and Bach — and has successfully introduced the first three into service across Europe’s most iconic waterways.
The addition of Riverside Mahler represents the next phase of this strategic rollout.
Jennifer Halboth, CEO of Riverside Luxury Cruises, said: “This is the next chapter for Riverside. Introducing Riverside Mahler gives us the opportunity to take everything we’ve built so far and apply it to the Rhine in new, creative ways—more access, more flexibility, and a fresh take on a river everyone thinks they already know.”
Halboth continued: “As demand for true luxury river cruising continues to grow, this expansion allows us to build on our commitment to delivering an exceptional, highly personalized experience while honoring the legacy of these remarkable ships.”
The return of Riverside Mahler underscores Riverside’s long-term vision to thoughtfully expand its fleet while maintaining the highest standards of space, service, and sophistication that define the brand. The new ship also means more opportunities to offer specialty theme sailings, including a slate of new wine themed itineraries.
Additional details regarding itineraries and onboard enhancements will be announced at a later date.
