Rod Stewart recently cancelled two shows in Las Vegas only a few hours before he was scheduled to perform. The singer has since released a statement on the situation. According to reports, the move was done on the advice of a doctor, with Stewart sharing various health updates with fans over the years.
Rod Stewart Was Set To Perform At The Colosseum At Caesars Palace In Las Vegas
Stewart is a British singer, considered one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Starting his career in the 1960s, he has been part of various music genres and movements, including rock, pop, soul, folk, and disco.
Stewart has shared a number of health issues with his fans over the years. In 2000, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. In 2019, he also revealed that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years prior and had given the all-clear after treatment.
Recently, however, Stewart has cancelled two shows in Las Vegas mere hours before he was set to take the stage. He was set to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30.
Both Stewart Himself & A Representative Have Shared Statements Over The Cancelled Shows
Speaking with The Las Vegas Review, a rep for the singer shared, “Following his doctor’s advice, Rod Stewart has regretfully canceled his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30, but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2.”
Stewart himself shared, “My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”
In spite of his health issues, Stewart has made clear over the years that he has no intention of giving up music. Back in 2024, he announced a farewell tour. However, he made clear that he was only giving up big tours and not performing itself.
At the time, Stewart took to social media to share, “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love.”
As the singer previously told the AARP, “I keep myself very fit. I played soccer all my life – don’t so much anymore, because I had a knee replacement. And I’ve always had a trainer – same guy for 38 years.”
