Roseanne Barr is not one to hold her tongue, which is why she was fired from her own show. Unfortunately for her, it went on and was rebranded as The Conners, lasting several more seasons. Now, she is catching a lot of heat after a “drunken” rant led to her getting thrown out of a very important family event. So, what actually went down? Keep reading for all of the details.
Roseanne Barr Has No Shame
Fans have long known Roseanne Barr as the streetwise comedian and television mother. She helmed her own sitcom for nine seasons that raked in the ratings and put the fictional Lanford, Illinois, on the map. However, when the show got a reboot, she was the master of her own demise. Roseanne posted a racist tweet in 2018, and that ended her time on her self-titled series. However, the cast did not want the reboot to end and felt it was unfair to the crew to lose their jobs, as well. Therefore, they banded together and created a new spinoff, The Conners, without the main star.
She has continued being her loud-mouthed self, and it recently led to a sad occurrence. Roseanne was attending her granddaughter’s recital when intermission hit. She decided to hit up the wine store and grabbed a bottle. The comedian only had a sip, as she claimed, but she could not bring it into the venue on her person. So, she allegedly asked the security guard to keep it for the time being. This came after she already had to empty her whole purse, which she called a “humiliating” experience:
“So I emptied everything into the plastic bag, including my adult diapers — humiliating. Anyway, so I come in with the wine, and I go, ‘Sir, I know you want to confiscate this wine, so would you just hold onto it for me until after the performance?”
He declined, so she asked if he wanted her to “chug it” right then and there. Supposedly, the guard told Roseanne Barr this:
“You are to go to your car and put that wine in the car with you, or you are not allowed back in here!”
That was when the 73-year-old let loose and shared that she was leaving Texas for Florida.

Alcohol Before Family?
Although Roseanne Barr stated that she only had one sip, fans who saw this did not believe her. They felt that she chose alcohol over her granddaughter’s recital and could have waited until it was over. She caused a scene for her own selfish reasons, and that was far too much:
- She could do so much good if she stopped drinking. Poor grandkids will remember grandma as a slush. Please get it together Roseanne. Alcohol is a crutch you don’t need.
- She can’t go to a f*ckin recital because she wants wine? You can’t just bring alcohol onto a school grounds. Alcoholic.
- I think alcohol is the problem with her behavior.
It is sad that this happened at her granddaughter’s big event and that she chose to go live to rant about it. Hopefully, this does not affect her relationship with her children in the long run.
