The View‘s Rosie O’Donnell Has Five Children After Being Sentenced Back In October
O’Donnell is a comedian and actress known for hosting her own syndicated talk show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, between 1996 and 2002. From 2006 to 2007, she became known as a co-host on The View.
In her personal life, O’Donnell has five children. She shares four children with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter: Parker, Chelsea, Blake, and Vivienne. She also shares a child, Clay, with her late ex-wife, Michelle Rounds.
In a recent post on social media, O’Donnell shared that she had visited her daughter Chelea in prison, upon her request. As noted by People, she had her probation revoked and was sentenced to jail back in October after she was arrested three times in 2024. This started with a September arrest on multiple felony charges, including neglecting a child and possession of methamphetamine.
In the post, the actress shared a selfie with her and her daughter. Chelsea could be seen wrapping her arms around her mother against a sunset-style backdrop. It’s believed that the photo was taken during the recent visit.
O’Donnell Shared That The Visit Had To Be Cut Short
The star described her visit with a poem. She noted that she arrived early during visiting hours, describing the room as resembling “a children’s nursery room” with “Disney murals on cement walls” and “vending machines.”
O’Donnell described the meeting as lasting four hours, mentioning board games and cards. She also mentioned that the visit had to be cut short as a tornado was spotted near the area, on orders from a guard.
Throughout the poem, O’Donnell expressed empathy for her daughter. She shared, “It’s hard enough for her. She turns 29 this summer and all I see when I look at her is a blonde baby in diapers.”

O’Donnell also noted that her daughter had four children, three girls and a boy, who have not visited her. She described this as something “which pains her, I know.”
