Fans have been following RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikova for years. This has included a few health updates. Recently, the star had fans worried with a share from a hospital, followed by a cryptic message.
Katya Zamolodchikova First Debuted On RuPaul’s Drag Race In 2015 During Season 7
Brian Joseph McCook, also known as Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova or Katya, first rose to fame after placing fifth on the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2015.
The following year, Katya also placed as a runner-up on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. Since then, fans also saw Katya team up with fellow series alum Trixie Mattel on Viceland’s The Trixie & Katya Show, with the two often appearing as a comedy duo.
Recently, Katya sparked concern after having shared a few alarming posts on social media. Taking to X, the star wrote, “Girl, I’m in body jail,” adding “Hell on Earth” as a hashtag.
In a photo, the star was seen giving a thumbs up to the camera while wearing a hospital gown and with a tube attached to the nose. The words, “Body Jail,” also appeared as a caption.
Following this, Katya shared a cryptic post about mortality, writing, “Everyone gets sick. (Almost) everybody gets old. And [everyone] dies.”

In the posts, Katya didn’t elaborate much on the current situation. However, the star has often shared various health issues with fans over the years, such as undergoing hip replacement surgery in 2023. At the time, Katya similarly shared the update on X, apologizing in advance for any cancelled or rescheduled gigs.
Taking to social media, fans also expressed their concerns over what was happening. During this time, a lot of fans wanted Katya to know that they wanted to extend their support. Some comments included:
