Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today Show two months after her mother’s shocking disappearance. Nancy Guthrie, 84, went missing from her Arizona home at the end of January. The authorities believe that she was abducted. Heartbreaking news recently came out about the case. An insider shared that Savannah Guthrie’s future on the NBC morning program is in doubt after the latest break in her mother’s case. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Ransom Note Makes Shocking Claim About Nancy Guthrie
It’s been over four months since Nancy Guthrie was last seen. The FBI became involved in the case at President Trump’s urging. But little evidence has been found in the elderly woman’s disappearance. A little over a week after the disappearance, authorities released footage of a masked person tampering with a security camera. However, they have yet to identify the person or name any suspects.
Nancy Guthrie is still missing. Ransom notes were sent to TMZ and other media outlets shortly after the alleged kidnapping. Not much has been happening with the case until now. TMZ received another note from someone who claimed that they had the password to a phone that had a video of Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers. The note claimed that two men were involved in the suspected abduction.
The note also insinuated that Nancy Guthrie was dead and the phone included footage of her on her “last day” alive. The sender offered the information in exchange for bitcoin. TMZ turned the note over to the FBI.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos spoke out on Arizona radio station KVOI AM 1030‘s “Buckmaster Show” about the note. “I think the FBI has done a number of arrests for false or fake ransom notes. It’s a shame that that happens, but I think we’re looking at another one of those today with what’s been reported. But we’ll let the FBI do their work,” the sheriff said.

Savannah Guthrie’s Today Future In Doubt Amid Heartbreaking News
Of course, the speculation that Nancy Guthrie died during the kidnapping made headline news. The Today Show covered it. Savannah Guthrie didn’t personally report on the news, but she addressed it during the segment. She begged anyone who knows anything to do the right thing and speak up.
Savannah Guthrie was recently absent from the news program for a few days to begin production on the upcoming Wordle game show. But her absence could become permanent. An insider spilled to The U.S. Sun that the show is preparing for the possibility of the anchor taking another hiatus from the show amid the heartbreaking new ransom note.
“Everyone at NBC is terrified for Savannah. She’s holding it together now, but every new development feels like another punch to the heart No one should have to deliver the morning news while living through a nightmare like this,” the source said.
The insider added, “They hope Savannah keeps working, but they also know she may need to step away without a moment’s notice. Savannah is determined not to let viewers down, but behind the scenes everyone can see how emotionally drained she is.”
Many viewers have expressed concern online that Savannah Guthrie returned to the show too soon amid her mother’s disappearance. Tell us in the comments if you think she should take another break.
