Shaboozey has opened pre-orders for his debut comic book, “The Outlaw Cherie Lee,” alongside an album of the same name in a simultaneous multimedia launch.
In the Instagram post, Shaboozey described the scope of the project directly: “The Outlaw Cherie Lee is more than just an album – I wanted to build an entire world around the music inspired by the freedom and grit of the Wild West and classic stories that we tell over and over again.”
Both the album and the comic book carry the Outlaw Cherie Lee title. The Wild West setting and outlaw mythology run through both formats. Shaboozey is framing this as a shared creative world, not two separate releases that happen to share a name.
The project marks a significant step up from a standard album rollout. Shaboozey broke out in 2024 with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” a country-rap crossover. The single spent months in the upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100 and introduced him to a wide mainstream audience. His sound blends country instrumentation with hip-hop cadences. That combination helped him connect with listeners across both genres. The Outlaw Cherie Lee is his next major statement, and he’s making it across multiple formats.
A musician building a comic book universe isn’t new. Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance created The Umbrella Academy. That comic became a full series and later a Netflix show. Shaboozey’s Outlaw Cherie Lee is in earlier stages, but the coordinated album and comic pre-order launch signals he’s thinking in franchise terms from day one.
Pre-orders for both the album and the comic book are live now. Links are in the bio on Shaboozey’s Instagram page.
Comic-Con San Diego is the anchor event for the launch. Shaboozey confirmed two appearances on Friday, July 24. He’ll sign at the Funko Booth (Booth #5341) at 5:30 PM, then join creator straw_hat_goofy for a live panel at 7:00 PM in Room 6BCF.
The Funko partnership puts the Outlaw Cherie Lee brand in front of a collector audience already invested in character-driven media. Funko’s collectibles are closely tied to franchise properties, and a Comic-Con booth signing gives the brand direct access to that community at one of the largest pop-culture events in the country.
Comic-Con San Diego draws well over 130,000 attendees over its four-day run. No hard release dates for the album or the comic book have been confirmed beyond the pre-order window. The July 24 panel may be where those specifics come out.
Shaboozey closed the post simply: “I can’t wait for y’all to experience it!”
Pre-orders are open now. Badge holders heading to San Diego on July 24 can catch the Funko signing at 5:30 PM and the panel at 7:00 PM in Room 6BCF.
