Steve Burton is known for his work on soaps, particularly playing Jason Morgan on General Hospital. In particular, fans have been wondering about when and whether he would be returning to Port Charles. Recently, the actor himself has taken it upon himself to answer fan questions.
Steve Burton First Joined General Hospital Back In 1991, Helping To Bring Jason Morgan To Life
Over the years, Burton has established himself through his work on soaps. This includes playing Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives and Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless.
For many, however, Burton’s most famous role has been playing Jason Morgan on General Hospital, originally from 1991 to 2012. He has since reprised the role over the years.
In fact, fans have been wondering about Burton’s next return to the soap. The actor recently gave fans an answer on his podcast, That’s Awesome With Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson!, which he hosts with his namesake co-star.
While on tour, Burton shared that the questions he gets the most are “When are you coming back,” and “If I am coming back?,” He decided to give fans an answer, confirming, “Yes, I am coming back to the show.”
Burton Also Revealed That He Originally Was Surprised To Learn Jason’s Fate On The Show
Burton also gave fans a ballpark idea as to when they would see him back in Port Charles. He shared, “I start in June, so I’ll be back for sure,” so fans should expect a summer homecoming of sorts. Due to the soap’s filming schedule, viewers will likely see Jason return a few weeks after Burton himself returns to the set.
Previously, Jason was written off after taking responsibility for the shooting of World Security Bureau chief Ross Cullum. Ross had attacked Britt Westbourne, bringing about his confrontation with Jason. Rocco grabbed a gun and fired, saving Jason and Britt. Jason later took responsibility to protect Rocco, seeing him sent to a facility in Europe.

During the podcast, Burton also shared that he does not regularly watch the show or know what’s going to happen when he isn’t on-screen. He shared, “I had no idea [where he was], we always make this joke [on tour]. I go, ‘Hey, you guys can ask us questions. It’s a Q&A, but we don’t watch the show, so we don’t know anything.”
Thanks to this, the actor shared that he was surprised to learn from fans that Jason was in Europe. He shared, “I go, ‘I am again?’. I just found out I’m in a European jail, [because of the Q&A],” admitting that he was wondering about Jason’s fate after he stopped filming on the show.
