Lanterns

Two intergalactic cops are drawn into a larger murder mystery in the American heartland.

Based on the DC Comics character Green Lantern, Lanterns was created by Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) and comics writer Tom King (Batman) and stars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge), Kelly Macdonald (No Country for Old Men) and Edmonton’s Nathan Fillion (reprising the role of Guy Gardner from last year’s Superman).

Michael

Original theatrical release date: April 25, 2026
Crave premiere date: Friday, August 14
Genre: Musical biopic
Runtime: 2 hours, 7 minutes

This film explores the early life and career of popstar Michael Jackson.

Michael was directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and stars Jackson’s real-life nephew Jafaar, Nia Long (Boyz n the Hood), Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Colman Domingo (Euphoria). It’s also worth noting that Toronto’s Mike Myers (Austin Powers) also makes an appearance as CBS Records president Walter Yetnikoff.

Modern Whore 🇨🇦

Crave release date: Monday, August 10
Genre: Documentary
Runtime: 1 hour, 20 minutes

Toronto-based writer, actress and former escort Andrea Werhun unpacks common myths and misconceptions about sex work.

This is a feature-length version of a short that Werhun made with Toronto director Nicole Bazuin. It’s also worth noting that Werhun was a key consultant on the 2024 Best Picture winner Anora.

Camp Rock 3

When their opening act cancels last minute, Connect 3 must host a new Camp Rock competition to find new talent.

Camp Rock 3 was directed by Veronica Rodriguez (Lucky) and features returning Camp Rock stars The Jonas Brothers, Maria Canals-Barrera and Demi Lovato in a cameo, as well as series newcomers Sherry Cola (Joy Ride), Liamani (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) and Malachi Barton (Stuck in the Middle). It’s worth noting that the film was shot in Vancouver.

Don’t Say Good Luck was directed by Julia Hart (Stargirl) and stars Sunny Sandler (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Max Greenfield (New Girl), and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

An art forger is hired by the estranged children of a famous artist to complete his most famous work, only for her to realize they have more in common than she believed.

The Christophers was directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s series) and stars Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You).
