Fans are about to see a new season of Survivor. However, even before the season made its debut, a moment from a recent announcement has fans talking. In particular, some are wondering about Jeff Probst making his exit from the series after around 26 years.
Fans Have Watched Jeff Probst On Survivor For 50 Seasons & Are About To See Him Host Season 51
Many know Probst best as the host of Survivor, a role he has had since the series made its debut in 2000. Behind the scenes, he also has served as an executive director and producer on the show.
Over the years, Probst has explored other projects. From 2013 to 2013, he was the host of his own syndicated talk show, The Jeff Probst Show.
However, a recent moment has some fans wondering if Probst is considering leaving the long-running show. This was during Survivor 51‘s live cast announcement.
Before introducing fans to the season’s new cast, Probst took some time to share the tribal council set-up for fans. He wrote his own name on the voting parchment. At the time, Probst shared, “I’m going to vote myself out. It’s definitely time for me to go, but first, I gotta show you the snuffer. Let’s go.”
Survivor 51 Already Filmed Between This Past April & May, & Is Set To Debut This September
Probst isn’t playing and, as the host of the show, he knows firsthand that one cannot vote themselves out of Survivor, at least under normal circumstances. Thanks to this, many fans have been wondering if Probst is teasing the end of the show after 50 seasons.
That said, there are plenty of reasons to suggest that this was all just a joke. This isn’t the first time that fans thought Probst was considering an exit from Survivor. Similar rumors came out when the show was right about to premiere Season 50.

During a recent conversation with Parade, Probst looked toward the future and noted that he would likely be replaced someday. His wording at the time, however, suggested that he wasn’t considering leaving the show. He shared, “This is not on my agenda, but when the time comes to hand over the stewardship of the show, I will be very excited to do it.”
Ultimately, only time will tell when Probst will leave the show. For the time being, he is already part of Season 51, which filmed back in April and May, and is scheduled to premiere this upcoming September.
