Tate Paul is asking a Utah court to reconsider his denied restraining order request against ex-wife Taylor Frankie Paul.
According to online court records viewed by Us Weekly, Tate, 32, filed a motion on Wednesday, July 1, for reconsideration and submitted several exhibits.
Tate included text messages that allegedly show Taylor, 32, not disclosing why she was receiving inpatient treatment. (A source previously told Us that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star checked into a rehab center for a voluntary stay. She has since been cleared and departed.)
The texts also allegedly show Taylor admitting that she stops assaulting ex Dakota Mortensen when he records their interactions. (The duo remain in a custody battle surrounding their son Ever, 2)
Tate also submitted call logs and text messages involving members of Taylor’s immediate family. (TMZ was first to report the news.)
Us has reached out to Tate and Taylor’s attorneys for additional comment.
Tate — who shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6 with Taylor — filed a motion for a temporary restraining order against his ex-wife in a Utah court on Tuesday, June 30. One day later, the court denied Tate’s request.

“As Tate himself recognizes, many of his supporting allegations are based upon inadmissible hearsay, without any corroborating evidence,” court documents obtained by Us on Wednesday stated. “Many of the concerns, like the children not doing well in school and expressing sadness will require ongoing attention not remedied with an emergency order changing custody.”
The statement continued, “The court acknowledges that what he is allegedly hearing can create anxiety, but contrary to the claim that the children are in immediate danger, Taylor proffers that Tate left the children with her from June 11 through the 17, 2026, while he went to Iceland. The court cannot find an immediate and irreparable harm as contemplated by Rule 65A, and the motion is denied.”

Tate and Taylor married in 2016 before calling it quits in 2022. At the time, Taylor revealed in a TikTok video that part of the reason for their divorce was that she crossed a line in their soft-swinging agreement by going “all the way” with another man.
Earlier this year, Taylor showed signs that she had a good coparenting relationship with her ex-husband.
“I just respect his privacy a lot, and I know that’s what he likes,” Taylor exclusively told Us in her March cover story. “But he and I have always been really good friends and [have a] very healthy coparenting relationship.”
