Taylor Swift is putting her hand in her pocket to help out a selfless mom who was hit by a car.
Us can confirm that the “Blank Space” singer, 36, donated $50,000 to a GoFundMe set up to help Ashley Taunton, her husband Joe and their three kids, as Ashley navigates her recovery journey.
Ashley’s friend, Laura Ortelt, organized the GoFundMe fundraiser to raise money to aid in her recovery and detailed what had occurred.
“On Saturday, July 18th, during a severe rainstorm on I-95, Ashley did what she always does: she put others before herself. Seeing someone in urgent need after a car accident, she pulled over to help. As Joe so perfectly puts it, it was just ‘Ashley doing Ashley things,’” Ortelt wrote in the GoFundMe description.
The description continued, “While she was assisting another vehicle hydroplaned and came hurtling directly toward them. In a split-second act of pure bravery, Ashley pushed the other person out of harm’s way, taking the brunt of the impact herself.”
According to the GoFundMe description, Ashley “is now facing a very long and difficult road to recovery” thanks to her “selfless courage.”
Ashley’s predicament managed to get on Swift’s radar, with the singer making the sizable donation on Friday, August 28.
“Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family!” Swift wrote in the GoFundMe comments section and signed off with her first name.

Ashley was left shocked by the celebrity donation and took to her Instagram to express her surprise and gratitude.
“I had to pull off to the side of the road today just to breathe. Seeing a $50,000 donation from @taylorswift for @_wovenbygrace on my phone is something I will never forget,” she wrote via Instagram on Friday. “The Taunton family is so unbelievably deserving of this support, and seeing this kind of light shine on them means the world. Thank you, Taylor, for your endless generosity and humanity. Proud to have been standing in your corner for over 20 years. 🥹✨.”

Ashley doubled down on the sentiment via her Instagram Stories, sharing a clip of herself looking shocked. The post also showed a screenshot of Swift’s GoFundMe gift.
The text overlaying the post read, “How is this even real. Thank you, I’m speechless and Taylor Swift you are an incredible human.”
In addition, Ashley shared a screenshot of Swift’s GoFundMe comment via her Story, writing, “Sobbing with so much gratitude! Wish I could hug you IRL what a beautiful human you are! God bless you!”
According to the GoFundMe description, the money received will go towards covering daily household bills and expenses, gas and travel costs for commuting back and forth to the hospital, meals and groceries for the kids and any medical expenses not covered by insurance.
