Throughout his career, the late Steve Irwin dealt with several animals that most people would dread to face. After all, his nickname was “the Crocodile Hunter.” However, in a recent share, his spouse, Terri Irwin, revealed that there was one animal that got Steve a little nervous.

Terri is an American-born conservationist, zookeeper, and television personality. She is the widow of the late conservationist Steve Irwin.

An influential figure among conservationists, Steve was known to many through his television series, The Crocodile Hunter, which he hosted with Terri. The couple also hosted a few other shows, including Croc Files and The New Crocodile Hunter Diaries.

Tragically, Steve died from an injury caused by a stingray in 2006. This took place after filming a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44 at the time of his death. Over the years, the Irwin family has kept Steve’s memory alive with fans through various media.

Throughout his career, fans came to know Irwin for his bravery, dealing with all sorts of feared animals. In a recent share on social media, however, Terri made note of one animal that made her spouse nervous.

The Post Was Inspired By A Special Day Honoring One Type Of Animal

In a recently shared photo, Steve could be seen standing alongside a colorful parrot. While he greeted the bird with a smile in the image, Terri shared, “You might not know this, but the only animal that made Steve a little nervous was the naughty parrot! Every parrot tried to get in a quick bite before Steve could react!” As noted in the hashtag, she noted that the share was in honor of World Parrot Day.

Steve is survived by his children, Bindi and Robert, both of whom have made prominent appearances in multiple media over the years. Honoring her father, Bindi shared in the comments, “I love this photo so much!”

Taking to the comments, fans shared a number of different reactions to the photo. Many also shared their own fond memories of watching Steve over the years. Some comments included:

    • “There is no such thing as a bad photo of Steve.”
    • “Parrots are so cheeky! Love that even with nerves, he truly admired, appreciated, and loved them.”
    • “And Steve still loved them.”
    • “Steve knew what to fear! That’s a powerful bird!”
    • “I remember hearing this! Because of this I always thought, if Steve Irwin is afraid of parrots, then so am I.”
    • “He even looks a little nervous in this picture. Snakes, spiders, crocs- none of those things bothered him. But a parrot. I love it. Thank you for sharing your family with the world, Teri. You (and Steve) did such a wonderful job raising such outstanding humans. This world needs to become more like the Irwins.”
