Sony has released its first PS5 system update for the year, which comes with a noticeable update.
The most notable update includes ‘read receipts’ for your messages. You can turn on this feature in the Settings menu. Now, when toxic players message you, they’ll know if you read the message, if you turn on the feature.
To turn on read receipts, head to ‘Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy > View and Customize Your Privacy Settings. Under Communication and multiplayer, set Show read receipts to other players on PS5 and PlayStation App to Allow.
You’ll also get the ability to check out your Friends’ Activity and jump directly into a game that a friend is playing. The PS5 Update also includes improved messages and usability on some screens, and improved software performance and stability.
The PS4 is also getting an update, but it’s not coming with any changes. The update for PS4 includes security fixes to the system software.
PS5 Update 26.01-12.60.00 and PS5 Update 13.04 are both available now.
