Alyssa Farah Griffin often tries to stick to her beliefs while attempting to hear the other side. This can be very hard to do as a co-host on The View. Recently, she challenged her co-hosts over a “nazi tattoo” political hopeful who had many divided. So, what did Alyssa have to say, and what was the pushback? Keep reading for more details.
A Nazi Tattoo Caused A Political Uprising
Although Alyssa Farah Griffin is supposed to be the more conservative co-host on The View, she does try to play the middle. Recently, there was debate over Democrat Graham Platner from Maine. He was running for U.S. Senate, but a handful of allegations and controversies came up against him. One of them happened to be a Nazi tattoo he had on his body, which was a major red flag for voters. The ladies started chatting about this, stating that they did not even know this was a symbol of Nazism.
Whoopi Goldberg explained that she was completely unaware of the tattoo’s meaning:
“I didn’t see that tattoo as a Nazi thing. No one ever told me that tattoo — what that was.”
There was a lot of back and forth regarding candidates and the fact that both Republicans and Democrats are failing to put up quality people. Sunny Hostin posed this question to the panel:
“Why do you think that is? Why do you think the Republicans fall in line and the Democrats have to fall in love, and the Republicans are constantly claiming to be the party of family values and morality.”
That caused Alyssa Farah Griffin to snap. She had had enough, as aforementioned, because she did not feel that either party was doing a great job. The View co-host used Graham Platner as a prime example of someone who was lacking on many accounts:
“I don’t know that I’m convinced either party puts up the best people. I’m just going to be honest. I love you guys, but a lot of you guys defended a guy with a Nazi tattoo who was credibly accused of a number of things.”
It was not just his tattoo that was a problem, but he dropped out of the race after he was accused of sexual assault. Sunny claimed that she was a fan before she knew he had such a tainted background.
Too Much Drama
The View ladies struggled to name a good Democratic candidate for the 2028 Presidential election. There was no one that they could find who did not have some sort of issue holding them back. Fresh blood may unite the women who seem so divided. Regardless, Alyssa Farah Griffin was being fair by not pointing fingers at one party. As for Graham Platner, he claims that his tattoo resembled a Nazi symbol. At this point, that is the least of his problems.
