When you put a group of women from different backgrounds on the same show, they’ll likely butt heads. A frequent guest of The View slammed one former host as a “diva” on the set of the ABC daytime talk show. Keep reading to find out whether the former host who immediately came to mind is the one mentioned by the guest.
The View Tapes Final Episode Of Season 29
Summer isn’t over yet, but the hosts of The View are done working for the next month and a half. Executive producer Brian Teta revealed on the show’s podcast that filming for Season 29 wrapped up this week. The co-hosts have the rest of the summer off until Season 30 premieres sometime after Labor Day.
But when the show does return, things might look different. ABC is reportedly cutting the budget for the show. The wardrobe department, special episodes, and more will likely be affected by the changes. One or more hosts could even leave if they refuse to take a pay cut. Whoopi Goldberg makes an estimated $8 million a year as a co-host and moderator of the ABC talk show. She’s reportedly the highest-paid host, making even more than Joy Behar, who was an original host before leaving for two seasons.
The View was a groundbreaking experiment when it debuted in 1997. The late, great Barbara Walters had a vision of an all-women panel discussing current events and conducting interviews. The show started with four regular co-hosts. Season 29 had six hosts, most of whom are expected to return for a milestone Season 30. However, one former host was allegedly a nightmare behind the scenes.
Frequent Guest Slams Former Host As A ‘Diva’ On Set
Star Jones was among the original co-hosts. She left after nine seasons, unexpectedly announcing her departure live on the air in an unscripted moment. She’s returned to the show several times. In 2022, the lawyer began presiding over Divorce Court. A frequent guest of The View slammed Star Jones as a “diva’ on set.

Comedian and actress Jessica Kirson was a guest on The View a few times, even performing on the “Joy’s Comedy Corner” segment. She opened up about her time on the ABC talk show on her podcast. Jessica Kirson claimed that Star Jones acted like a “diva” during one interaction.
She claimed that she was scolded by production on Star Jones’ behalf. “‘Star is very upset with you because you said ‘Star Jones’ and not ‘Star Jones Reynolds’ and it’s not okay,’” Jessica Kirson claimed she was told.
She was then allegedly approached by the former View host herself. “She came up to me and she literally said, ‘My name is Star Jones Reynolds, and I would appreciate if you called me that. That’s my name.’”
Star Jones was married to Al Reynolds for three years before divorcing in 2008. Rumors at the time claimed that her ex was gay, but he revealed that he was bisexual and his former wife knew the whole time.
