The View hosts took a much-needed break last week. Alyssa Farah Griffin returned from maternity leave and joined them on Monday, April 13, for their first show back after the break. The hosts immediately called out President Trump over a recent “blasphemous” act. Keep reading to find out what happened.

President Trump Feuds With Pope Leo XIV

The U.S. began bombing Iran in late February over allegations that the Middle Eastern country was hiding nuclear capabilities, violating a previous agreement. The attacks were coordinated with Israel and faced backlash across the world. Even Pope Leo XIV disagreed with the war and publicly called for peace.

His comments didn’t go over well with President Trump, who took to Truth Social to call the American-born Pope “weak,” among other insults. However, the Pope took the high ground and refused to be intimidated. The President later refused to apologize and doubled down with a move that shocked even his most loyal supporters.

President Trump’s Latest AI Photo Shocks Religious Communities

No one expected President Trump to feud with the Pope. But what happened next was even more shocking. After blasting the Pope on social media, the President of the U.S. shared an AI-generated photo depicting himself as Jesus.

When asked by the press, President Trump denied that he was supposed to be Jesus in the photo. Instead, he claimed that he was depicting himself as a doctor who heals the country. The post was later deleted, but by then, it had already gone viral. It was the topic of conversation on several talk shows, including The View.

The View Hosts Blast President Trump Over ‘Blasphemous’ Act

Most of The View hosts do not support President Trump. In fact, they often speak out against his administration, sparking backlash from the White House. Whoopi Goldberg brought the AI photo up during Monday’s “Hot Topics” discussion. Sunny Hostin immediately renewed calls for the 25th Amendment, which would remove Trump from office.

“I think our founding fathers did a lot of things right, and the 25th amendment is there for a reason. No one that holds that office, which is arguably the most powerful office in the world, does things like that,” she said of the “blasphemous” photo.

The 25th Amendment requires the Vice President and the majority of the Cabinet to make a written declaration to Congress to begin the process. It’s very unlikely it will ever be used on President Trump, despite frequent calls from his opponents to remove him from office.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked in his first administration, strongly admonished President Trump for posting the AI image. “In the Christian faith, this is considered blasphemy, depicting yourself as Christ, elevating yourself to the level of Christ” she said. She added, “God is not to be mocked.”

The View hosts found the AI-generated image incredibly offensive, as did many people, regardless of religious affiliation. Share your reaction to the photo in the comments. Did President Trump go too far this time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
