Pete Hegseth Announces Shocking New Military Mandate
Pete Hegseth became the Secretary of Defense when President Trump took office for his second term in January 2025. The former Fox News host vowed to bring back a “warrior” mentality to the United States military.
He implemented tougher fitness tests and reinstated stricter grooming policies that banned beards and other facial hair. Pete Hegseth announced a new mandate this week that raised eyebrows. The U.S. military will now require annual testosterone screening for all service members aged 30 or older. Younger service members can request the screening.
If a testosterone deficiency is found, treatments such as Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) will be provided. The treatments are voluntary and aim at restoring the body’s natural capabilities.
The View Mocks Pete Hegseth’s ‘Crazy’ Policy
Pete Hegseth’s new military mandate was widely mocked on social media. Some users pointed out that the testosterone replacement therapy is a type of gender-affirming care, which was previously banned.
The View hosts had a lot to say about the mandate during Friday’s “Hot Topics” discussion. Alyssa Farah Griffin didn’t hold back, implying that Pete Hegseth, 46, is insecure about his testosterone.
“So, it is a fact of science that no man who is confident in their own testosterone levels worries about other men’s testosterone levels. Look it up. It’s in the science textbook. I have literally never heard my husband be like, ‘I’m worried about our neighbor and his T levels,’” the former Trump staffer joked.
“What are they doing next? Measuring p***s size? This feels like the manosphere is in charge of the military. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard,” Sara Haines added.
Ana Navarro pointed out that the treatment could have health consequences if done incorrectly. Furthermore, she said the military has more important things to worry about.
“We’re in the middle of a war that none of us know when and how it will end. We all desperately want it to end. And in the middle of this war, you’ve got the secretary of defense focused on who’s chubby in the military, the facial hair, who’s got a beard in the military, and now testosterone levels,” she said.
