Will This Is Poly be coming back for a second season amid some controversy within the Yahweh family? Many new revelations have emerged throughout the first season, which have made them all the more fascinating. At the same time, it has made their presence on the series slightly questionable. This Is Poly Renewed?
When Love After Lockup returned, WeTV used it as a way to introduce the cast of This Is Poly. They took Nita, Trent, and Kami, who viewers had already met, and spun them over to the new series. There was also another Love After Lockup poly couple that should have moved over to TIP, but that seemingly never happened. Rather, a whole mess of new people came in and made heads turn. Bri and Marley were looking for a new partner to make a throuple, but they had a very interesting way of sourcing them out.
Then, there were Nita, Trent, and Kami, who had a lot of jealousy and legal issues. The most controversial family was the Yahwehs, who bowed down to their King, who was named Poetic. He had five wives, but others had come and gone, and they were raising nearly twenty children. It is believed that they are more of a cult than a polyamorous family, and that may be true. So, will the show be renewed for another season, given the drama that is emerging about the Yahwehs? Ratings for the Friday, July 17th finale are still coming in.
Some of the This Is Poly cast is ready and willing to come back. Nita is unsure, as she feels she would want a higher salary. She claims she has made more money for other jobs. However, Kami and Trent are on board:
“I think we absolutely would be interested in doing another season. Definitely. I mean, it was fun. It was hard, but it was fun and we’re very pleased with the outcome. They did a great job. We got to share ourselves and we got to share what we believe – that love is expansive, love is growing. We wanted people to see that this is an option.”
Mixed Emotions
Viewers have had mixed emotions watching the first season of This Is Poly. Yet, they have enjoyed watching the crazy dynamic and inner workings. That being said, it could have a good chance of being brought back despite the controversy:
