Dylan Dreyer is known to many for her work with Today. Through this and other outlets, she has shared a lot about her life over the years. Recently, she made an admission when it comes to her family. This came complete with a comparison to a well-known television series.
Dylan Dreyer Made Her Share During An Episode Of Her Podcast Series
Dreyer is a meteorologist known for her work with NBC News. She is especially known for her work with Today. In addition, she has also worked with The Weather Channel and NBC Nightly News.
In her personal life, Dreyer shares three children, sons Calvin, Oliver, and Russell, with Brian Fichera. Although she and Fichera announced that they had separated last year, they shared that they would continue to co-parent their children.
Earlier this month, Dreyer also became the host of a podcast, “The Parent Chat with Dylan Dreyer.” On this show, she speaks with celebrity guests and parenting experts about what it is like bringing up children.
On the April 23 episode of the podcast, Dreyer spoke with Not Skinny But Not Fat host Amanda Hirsch. The two discussed what it was like balancing maintaining their passions with their responsibilities as parents.
Dreyer Admitted Something ‘Scared’ Her To ‘Death,’ Adding That She Felt She Was Living ‘Two’ Lives
Hirsch admitted, “I remember after even getting pregnant and thinking about all the things I was scared of, I said, ‘No, you’re going to keep on doing what you’re doing.’” At this point, she was determined that having children wasn’t going to change her personality. For her part, Dreyer admitted to being “scared to death” to become a mother while having her son, Calvin.
Hirsch continued, “You could be the person that you were, you know? You could still like the things that you liked. You don’t have to become interested only in, like, mom things. And all of a sudden care about only, like, kid stuff.”
This caused Dreyer to make an interesting comparison, sharing that she felt her life was like the show, Severance. On the show, employees sever work memories from their personal lives with a special procedure. This leaves “innies” without knowledge of what happens outside of work and “outties” who know nothing of their careers.
The Today alum shared, “It’s like Severance. I feel like I have my life that I love, I love my job, I love coming to work. I’m not thinking about my kids. And then I go home — and I love being a mom. I love being with the kids — and I’m not really thinking about work.” Dreyer ultimately confessed, “It’s like I’m living two different lives, but they’re all cohesive.”
