Jenna Bush Hager Defends ‘Weird’ Marriage Amid Criticism
The Today host met her future husband in 2004 when he was working on her father’s reelection campaign. They married in 2008 and share three children, Mila, Poppy, and Hal. Their oldest daughter, Mila, recently turned 13. Due to her upbringing, Jenna Bush didn’t live with her husband before they were married.

She said that people thought that was strange. “My parents [George W. Bush and Laura Bush] probably would’ve been okay with it, but we just didn’t because of timing, and blah blah blah. People thought it was weird. I remember people being like, ‘Are you sure? Like, do you know?’” she recalled.
Sheinelle Jones shared that she didn’t live with her late husband, Uche Ojeh, before they were married, either. The hosts said that’s just how relationships worked in their day. As for Megan Thee Stallion, the Today Show hosts sent her their love and their belief that she’ll find the right person someday.
She Addresses Why They Look Alike
Jenna Bush Hager has shared a lot about her husband and marriage over the years. He was the topic of conversation the following day, as well. Sheinelle Jones asked her co-host if she thought it was true that women marry men like their fathers.
I first met your husband, I was like, ‘Oh, wow! He’s kinda like her dad.’ He’s fun, he almost kinda— do you think he kinda looks like him a little bit?” Sheinelle Jones asked. Jenna Bush Hager said she doesn’t really think her husband looks like her dad.
However, she agrees with people who think she and her husband look alike. “I think Henry and I sort of have big heads. I think we have big faces, which, therefore, we could be brother-sister, which they also say,” she explained.
The Today host doesn’t tolerate criticism of her marriage, but she can take a joke about how much she looks like her husband. Tell us in the comments – do you think women marry men who remind them of their fathers?
