Jenna Bush Hager has worked alongside a number of prominent co-hosts over the years. In fact, she spent an entire year of Today‘s fourth hour hosting alongside a number of rotating guest stars. Recently, she’s opened up about one of her most memorable guest co-hosts.
Viewers Saw A Number Of Notable Names During The Today With Jenna & Friends Era
Jenna first officially joined Today in 2009. In 2019, she became a co-host on the show’s fourth hour.
At the time, Jenna took over for Kathie Lee Gifford, hosting with Hoda Kotb until her own exit from the show. Earlier this year, Jenna started hosting the hour alongside Sheinelle Jones.
Around a year beforehand, Jenna worked alongside a number of different co-hosts, with the fourth hour being styled as Today with Jenna & Friends. During this time, viewers saw a number of notable figures work with Jenna for a few episodes.
These included stars like Scarlett Johansson, Brooke Shields, Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria, Bowen Yang, and John Legend. At times, Jenna also worked with other members of the Today family, Savannah Guthrie and Dylan Dreyer.
However, during a recent episode of the show, while reminiscing on this era, Jenna shared that the most memorable for her was someone close to home: her own husband, Henry Hager.
Henry & Jenna Bush Hager Married In 2008 At Her Parents’ Ranch
As Jenna shared during the fourth hour’s June 24 episode, “He was a friend, and he was actually a favorite. Wasn’t he, y’all?” She continued, “He was cute. And also, it was cute because people knew he didn’t necessarily really want to do it, but he was doing it for me.”
While she enjoyed the experience, Jenna admitted that it also came with a “lot of pressure.” She shared, “[I was] like, ‘Oh, gosh. He [doesn’t] know how to read the prompter.’ At one point, [our executive producer] Talia [Parkinson-Jones] goes, ‘Stop interrupting him.’ Talia, I told on you. She’s like, ‘Let him talk,’ but I just wanted to help him so much.”

Henry made his debut on Jenna & Friends as a guest host during the show’s “Family Week” in March 2025. He returned to co-host the show during its pre-recorded Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve episodes in December 2025.
During this time, the two had a few memorable moments on the show. In one famous bit, the two took a lie detector test, a clip of which aired during the recent episode.
Jenna, the daughter of former U.S. President George W. Bush, and Henry married in 2008 at her parents’ ranch, Prairie Chapel Ranch. The two share three children together: Mila, Poppy, and Hal.
