Today Host Savannah Guthrie Breaks Silence On ‘Unending Trauma’
Nancy Guthrie’s family dropped her off at her house in Tucson, Arizona, after dinner on January 31, 2026. They would never see her again. The police believe she was abducted but the only clue they had was footage of a masked person tampering with the home’s security camera. Savannah Guthrie has offered a million dollars for any information that leads to her mother’s return.
TMZ received a note last month that claimed Nancy Guthrie was no longer alive. Savannah Guthrie sat at the Today Show anchor desk while her colleagues reported the breaking news. She broke down in tears, begging for someone to come forward with information on her mother’s whereabouts.
Savannah Guthrie’s mother hasn’t been seen in five months. The Today Show host shared a statement with Arizona news outlet KOLD News 13 about the heartbreaking situation. “It is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family. There is not a moment that goes by that we aren’t actively trying to find our mom,” she said.

Savannah thanked “the people of Tucson for holding her in their hearts, as well as both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office for their tireless work on behalf of our family.” She repeated the refrain she’s said since the beginning of the case. “Bring her home.”
Pima County Sheriff Reveals Close To Identifying Suspect
The local police had little go on after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. The FBI became involved in the case at President Trump’s urging. However, the developments in the case have been few and far between. But the authorities aren’t giving up.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told KOLD News 13 that they’re getting close to identifying a suspect. “Especially when you throw in genealogy – now, you’ve got… this may not be the bad guy, but this person might be the bad guy’s relative three times over. So, that has to be broken down to see if this might be someone of interest to us,” he told the outlet.
It sounds like the authorities are on the verge of a breakthrough in the case. Savannah Guthrie remains convinced that her beloved mother will come home. Stay tuned for more details as the police narrow down the suspect list.
