Viewers recently watched Savannah Guthrie reunite with Hoda Kotb on Today. Since then, ratings have come out for the show. This had led to fans wondering if the show had kept its top spot.
Prior To Their Recent Reunion, Hoda Kotb Had Filled In On Today For Savannah Guthrie Earlier This Year
Guthrie and Kotb recently reunited on Today on April 13, 2026. This marked their first time co-hosting together in over a year.
Guthrie had recently stepped away from the show following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy. However, she recently returned earlier this month.
For her part, Kotb had left Today back in early 2025. However, she recently returned in February and March to help fill in for Guthrie. Kotb and Guthrie’s recent reunion on the show came about, however, as the former was filling in for Craig Melvin, who was spending spring break with his family.
During Guthrie and Kotb’s recent reunion, the two shared how happy they were to reunite. During the show, Guthrie shared, “So glad to have you here, Hoda.” Kotb replied, “I’m so happy sitting next to you in this chair again,” before reaching over to her friend and co-host.
Guthrie added, “Yeah, it’s good, it’s like the old times.” The two had previously worked together as co-anchors for around seven years.
Ratings Have Come Out For The Week, For Today & Other Morning Shows
According to AdWeek, Today kept its top spot as the most-watched morning show across total viewers and key Adults 25-54 demographic during the recent reunion. Citing Nielsen data, the morning show averaged 3.002 million total viewers and 629,000 demo viewers for the week of April 13.
However, while the show kept the top spot, the numbers were still down around 4% in total viewers and flat in the demo. Compared to the same week in 2025, in total viewers, Today rose 21%. It also rose 9% in the demo.

Meanwhile, ABC’s Good Morning America came in second place. For the week, it averaged 2.885 million total viewers and 483,000 demo viewers. When compared to the week before, the program was down 2% in the key demo.
Meanwhile, CBS Mornings came in third. However, it was also the only show that increased in both total viewers and the key demo compared to the previous week. During the week, the show averaged 1.797 million total viewers and 299,000 demo viewers. This saw a 3% increase in total viewers and was up 19% in the demo compared to the earlier week.
