The IPL 2026 final saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) successfully defend their title with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After restricting GT to 155/8, RCB chased down the target comfortably thanks to Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 75, capping off another memorable season for the franchise.

However, the 2026 edition will also be remembered as one of the most batter-dominated seasons in IPL history. Teams piled on runs at an unprecedented rate, boundaries flowed freely, and six-hitting reached new heights across the tournament. While batters enjoyed a record-breaking campaign, bowlers often found themselves on the receiving end of relentless attacks.

Top 5 bowlers who conceded most sixes in an IPL season

The evolution of T20 cricket has made life increasingly difficult for bowlers. Bigger bats, flatter pitches and fearless batting approaches have transformed six-hitting into the most valuable currency in the shortest format. As IPL 2026 rewrote several batting records, a few bowlers also found themselves entering an unwanted list. Here are the five bowlers who have conceded the most sixes in a single IPL season.

    1. Kagiso Rabada (40 sixes — IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans)

Despite winning the Purple Cap, Kagiso Rabada ended IPL 2026 with an unwanted record. The Gujarat Titans pace spearhead picked up 29 wickets in 17 matches at an impressive average of 21.58 and a strike rate of 13.37, underlining his effectiveness throughout the campaign.

However, the aggressive batting approach adopted by teams across the season meant even the best bowlers were not spared. Rabada conceded 40 sixes during the tournament, the most by any bowler in a single IPL edition. The South African quick thus became the first player to finish an IPL season with both the Purple Cap and the record for most maximums conceded.

    2. Rashid Khan (36 sixes — IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans)

Rashid Khan occupies the second spot on the list after conceding 36 sixes during IPL 2026. While the Afghan spinner enjoyed a much stronger campaign compared to the previous season, opposition batters frequently targeted him in an attempt to disrupt Gujarat Titans’ bowling plans.

The leg-spinner finished the tournament with 21 wickets in 17 matches at an average of 24.57 and an economy rate of 9.07. Despite his wicket-taking success, the number of sixes conceded highlights how aggressively batters approached even one of the most respected T20 bowlers in world cricket.

    3. Anshul Kamboj (34 sixes — IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings)

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) endured another disappointing season, but Anshul Kamboj emerged as one of the few bright spots in their campaign. The young pacer claimed 21 wickets in 14 matches and regularly provided breakthroughs despite operating in difficult situations.

His attacking style, however, came with risks. Kamboj conceded 34 sixes across the season while maintaining an economy rate above ten runs per over. Although he finds himself high on this unwanted list, his wicket tally suggests he often succeeded in taking wickets while searching for attacking options.

    4. Rashid Khan (33 sixes — IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans)

Rashid appears twice in the top five, with his IPL 2025 campaign also featuring prominently. The Gujarat Titans spinner endured one of the toughest seasons of his IPL career as batters consistently found ways to attack him.

Across 15 matches, Rashid managed only nine wickets and was struck for 33 sixes. His average climbed above 57 while his economy rate crossed nine runs per over, making it a season to forget for one of the league’s premier spin bowlers.

    5. Mohammed Siraj (31 sixes — IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

Completing the list is Mohammed Siraj, who conceded 31 sixes during IPL 2022 while representing RCB. It proved to be a difficult campaign for the Indian fast bowler as he struggled to replicate the consistency that had made him one of RCB’s most reliable performers.

Siraj featured in 15 matches and picked up only nine wickets during the season. His economy rate exceeded ten runs per over and opposition batters frequently targeted him during both the powerplay and death overs. Although RCB reached Qualifier 2, it remained one of the toughest individual IPL seasons of Siraj’s career.
