Top Chef has yet viewers at home entertained and question their culinary skills for two decades. The culinary competition premiered on Bravo in 2006. Like many long-running shows, there have been changes as the network tries to keep audiences engaged. However, several recent changes in Season 23 led to cancellation rumors, sending fans into a panic. Keep reading for more details.
Bravo Makes Another Unexpected Change To Beloved Show
Top Chef has made subtle changes to rules and challenges over the years. But the most shocking change came in 2023 when Padma Lakshmi left. She joined the show as host in Season 2. But she chose to leave after Season 20 to pursue other opportunities. She hosted her own culinary competition on CBS. America’s Culinary Cup has yet to be renewed or canceled.
Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons remain the only two who have been there for all 23 seasons. They serve as judges on the show. Top Chef Season 10 winner Kristen Kish replaced Padma as host.
The popular reality show typically airs on Mondays at 9 PM Eastern. However, Season 23 has been horrible about consistently staying at the same time. It’s one of the biggest complaints from viewers about the season.

Top Chef Fans Panic Over Cancellation Rumors
Season 23 of Top Chef spotlighted the cuisine of the Carolinas. The show was filmed in areas of North and South Carolina. The show narrowed the finalists from 5 to 4 in the episode that aired this week. More will be eliminated in next week’s episode. The Season 23 winner will be named on the season finale on Monday, June 8.
Viewers were angry about this week’s episode, but not because of who went home. The show aired at 9:00 PM instead of 9:30 PM. Bravo keeps changing the time and fans never know when it might air. And it seems like the time change trend continues for the final two episodes of the season. Fans took to Reddit to share their reaction to yet another time change.
- “It’s like they really don’t care if people watch it live”
- “What is up with all of the confusion this season? Is this Bravo trying to send a message or is it an honest f-up?”
- “Can hear the groans already. I know, right?”
- “They really need to make up their minds here”
- “This is literally the only show I or anyone I know watches on this trash station. And they treat it like some third tier slot filler”
- “Why can’t Bravo figure this out – it’s like their only #1 show”
- “I legit wonder if they are trying to find a way to cancel TC due to ‘low ratings’”
Fans are right to worry about cancellation since the network has put several once-popular shows on pause due to low ratings. However, Top Chef has already been renewed for Season 24. But it’s anybody’s guess what time the next season will actually air.
