The Toronto Rock have joined the Halifax Thunderbirds as the two Canadian teams left in the 2026 National Lacrosse League playoffs. On Saturday at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the Rock defeated the Saskatchewan Rush 16-13 in one of four quarterfinal matchups in the NLL over the weekend.
Two Rock players led the way with six point each. Chris Boushy led the Rock with five goals and was one of two Rock players with six points as the added an assist. The other Rock player with six points was Josh Dawick of Oakville, Ontario, who had three goals and three assists.
CJ Kirst also had a hat trick. Meanwhile, five Rock players had a one goal game. They were Brad Kri of Acton, Ontario, Mark Matthews of Oshawa, Ontario, Latrell Harris of St. Catharines, Ontario, Elijah Gash and Hugh Kelleher.
The Rock had a strong first quarter as they outscored the Rush 6-2. Unlike the Vancouver Warriors on Friday night, they did not blow their first quarter lead.
Next up for the Rock in the NLL Cup playoffs are the San Diego Seals. Meanwhile, the Thunderbirds will play the Georgia Swarm in the other semifinal. San Diego beat Colorado 13-12 in overtime on Saturday, and Georgia spanked Buffalo 17-10.
