TrumpRx adds 160 drugs to TrumpRx for a total of over 800

President Trump announced the addition of over 160 discounted prescription drugs to the federal government-run healthcare platform, bringing the total to over 800.

He said on social media that his administration’s TrumpRx.gov will “now provide clear, transparent, and DISCOUNTED offerings for FOUR OUT OF FIVE of every prescription filled by Americans.”

The website, which launched in February, does not sell drugs directly but helps Americans find the lowest medicine prices when paying out of pocket.

It’s in coordination with Mr. Trump’s “most favored nation” policy, designed to lower the price of prescription drugs sold in the U.S. compared with other nations. It came through the administration’s deals requiring drugmakers to match or beat the lowest manufacturer-reported net price versus other developed nations.

“That is to say, we pay no more or, ideally, less than any other Country for the same exact Drug,” Mr. Trump said in his Friday Truth Social announcement, referencing his most-favored-nation policy. “Now we are cutting Prices, and cutting them by a LOT, sometimes by 400 or 500 or 600 Percent!”

The website displays the cost comparison for drug prices in the U.S. under the most-favored-nation deal versus other countries.

He boasted that this deal has saved U.S. consumers over $400 million since the launch of TrumpRx.gov. The White House Council of Economic Advisers estimates that this will save Americans more than $500 billion over the next decade.

“Of course, Most Favored Nations would not be possible without my use of TARIFFS, which are getting other Countries to ‘pay up’ instead of relying on American Patients getting ripped off, as they were for decades until I ordered an immediate ‘stop’ to this very unfair and, frankly, foolish situation,” Mr. Trump said. “This is all great news, and I have instructed my Administration to secure more Most Favored Nations Deals, more Partnerships, and Lower Prices for every American Patient. Before filling out a Prescription, make sure you ‘CHECK OUT – TRUMPRX.GOV.”

This is the second expansion of the initiative, having added 160 more drugs earlier this week.

Last month, the president announced that TrumpRX added more than 600 generic medications to the website. The event was attended by billionaire Mark Cuban, whose Cost Plus Drug Co. sells mail-order medicine directly to consumers for transparent prices.
