Weezer have released their new single “We Might As Well Be Strangers” featuring Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman. The song is featured on their new self-titled album, out Aug. 21 via Reprise/Warner Records.
Weezer began teasing the record on Instagram this week, posting clips of the band members dressed in explorer outfits, stating, “The search is on. The signs have led us here.”

Weezer, their 20th album, began as collaborative sessions with three of the band’s four members contributing to the songwriting, including frontman/guitarist Rivers Cuomo and drummer Pat Wilson, who also co-developed songs together for the first time since The Blue Album. The LP was produced by Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume, with Blume wanting to make the “most aggressive Weezer album ever.”
Later this year, Weezer will begin their The Gathering North American tour.
