A source told UsWeekly that the separation between actress Margaret Qualley and music producer Jack Antonoff was not a sudden decision.
While the breakup reportedly happened recently, the pair had been facing challenges in their marriage for several years. The insider claims Qualley ultimately “initiated” the breakup as the actress made the decision to step away from the relationship.
Both of their “busy schedules and distance were factors, along with many other things like lack of trust in the marriage,” are said to have contributed to the strain between them.

Interestingly, Antonoff has continued to wear his wedding ring in public. The last time the two were seen together at a major public event was at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February.
Qualley and Antonoff first sparked romance rumors in 2021, became engaged in 2022, and exchanged vows during a New Jersey ceremony in 2023.
